alaposh is a light quilt which
the Nawabs of Murshidabad used as shawls and quilts in the mild winter of West Bengal.
The
top is usually made of silk. Usually the quilt has a border in a contrasting colour. The
back is made of same colour light cotton material. The quilt is filled with a thin layer
of cotton wool.
Balaposh can be similarly made in cotton material.
