Ajit and Pratima Vaidya, Maharashtra :
 

Situated at Chowk, 65 kms from Mumbai, in a picturesque surrounding is the Ishalgud Ceremics & Pottery, a well equipped studio established by artist couple Pratima and Ajit Vaidya who have been working in the field of studio pottery for the last thirty years. Ajit had his training in ceramics and pottery and is a visiting lecturer in J.J.School of Arts, Mumbai. He attended the World Craft Council Seminar in Japan in 1978. Pratima,also trained in fine arts from J.J.School of Arts, Mumbai has has also studied sculpture modelling. She joined Ajit after their marriage creating a team to explore the medium in various ways. Ajit and Pratima work in stoneware temperature range and  experiment with  various  clay  bodies and glazes. They have refined the art

to be able to meet the requirements of architects and interior designers as well. Prominent among these works are a mural for the Police Headquarters, Iraq, 1986; a 450 sq. ft. mural for Muscat Municipality in 1991; a 400 sq. ft. mural at an Architect's firm in Mumbai.
