Originally a Khatri dyer and printer from Kutch, Hand Block printing has been a family tradition for Mohd Husain S. Khatri. His father developed big block tables for printing decorative designs for sarees in acid and discharge colours. Mohd. Husain started working with his father after passing his S.S.C. exams. He developed old Sangeneri design blocks. He has 36  years  of  experience  in  hand  block printing and has a workshop in Mumbai with 20 highly skilled staff. His wife Sabira Khatri and sons Ebrahim and Imran have joined the family business and they continue to preserve the ancient art of Hand Block printing.
