Pankaj Kumar Sahoo belongs to a traditional
family of craftsmen from Cuttack. He learnt the craft of silver filigree from his father
Shyam Sunder Sahoo at the age of 14 years. He lives with his father and mother.
Delicate silver filigree objects like Raths, the Taj Mahal, evening
bags, roses, vases, flower pots are made by him following the ancient tradition. Sahoo
received the National Award for excellence in the craft of silver filigree in 1994-95. He
is always exploring new ideas for developing the workmanship of this delicate art.
